About Us

Bringing the Arts to You

For more than half a century, the Weyburn Concert Series (WCS) has been a cornerstone of arts and culture in southeast Saskatchewan. Its roots trace back to 1967, when the Weyburn Quota Club concluded its long-running Overture series. Community members stepped in to keep performances alive, and with the support of the newly formed Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Councils (OSAC), the foundation was set for something lasting.

In 1976, the Weyburn Concert Series officially emerged, guided for over forty years by the dedicated volunteers of Beta Sigma Phi. Their partnership with OSAC brought world-class performers and rising Canadian talent to Weyburn, ultimately presenting more than 240 concerts and shaping generations of arts appreciation.

The opening of the Cugnet Centre in 2013 marked a new era, providing a modern, 1,000‑plus seat venue with professional lighting and sound. After Beta Sigma Phi retired in 2014, leadership passed to Lynn Kot and Linda Aitken, followed by a committed team of volunteers who continue to champion live performance in the community.

Today, the Weyburn Concert Series remains devoted to enriching local life through the performing arts — connecting audiences, artists, and community through experiences that inspire.

Quote from Nancy Martin, former OSAC Executive Director

“Connecting art through the heart to the people makes Saskatchewan communities better places to live, and the arts become an integral part of our everyday lives.”
